When you left

When you left

A Poem by Olive Belikov

I never thought I could get this far
After you moved on.
When you left
So did I
Even though I never moved.
But now I look back
And I realize
I moved miles,
Climbed mountains,
Swam across seas.
When you left
So did I.
I realized
You weren't for me
After all.
You weren't my one and only.
So I moved on.

It's funny what distances you travel when you don't even intend to. Or distances traveled you aren't even aware of. I agree with GamingGal. I love a poem, like this one, that I can connect to.

Pros: Good poem. I like the repetition of "So did I." Moving on is a good thing. Sometimes, it seems hard and painful at the time, and sometimes it IS hard and painful. But, time heals all wounds and gives us better perspective. I've had to let go of someone who has moved on before, and looking back I realize they weren't the one meant for me. Sorry, I rambled, I just love connecting to a poem.

Cons: Nothing that I can see.

Overall: I great poem that I connected to and enjoyed.
