Autumn LeavesA Poem by Paula HenslowI've actually already posted this on a website called Wattpad. But I really just want to share this with you guys. I hope you like it. I wrote this on my 3rd year of highschool, at the age of 14. :)She just stood there with the wind blowing on her face, Unbelievably seeing for the first time the world's different phase. The autumn leaves falling down from the sky, Her face looks up at the face printed up high.
A sigh escaped from between her lips, Her hair flying in sea waves on her hips A subtle smile was naturally released, As she stooped her shoulders and sat down with ease.
She ran her hands on the grass underneath, Hearing the rumble of the passing heat. Still looking at the face pasted above, Brimming inside her heart was the feeling of love.
The autumn leaves kept falling as she sat alone, And she started singing a song with a beautiful tone. "My love in the skies," started the song. "To me all know you did no wrong."
"There's no other person better than a person can be. "There's no other person like you that I would miss more," sang she. "I have loved you like my God as we soar to our heaven. "And I once believed that to you I was just a burden."
She patted, continuing the hum, of her husband's grave, And to all passing widows, she gave a wave. She tucked a wisp of hair behind her ear, Within her heart she can feel no fear.
She kissed the slab of stones of her husband's grave Suddenly feeling his warmth that she will forever crave. "I know you'll be with me," she said in a whispered hush To the figure invisible to all others such.
She took and filled her lungs with breath so sore Jumped on a hill and became no more. © 2014 Paula Henslow |
