Hypocrisy Proxy

A Poem by Matthew Kay
"

Spontaneous writing is something rather new to me. i wrote this after feeling like a huge hypocrite. I remembered my words and how led and scripted they felt. So, I tried to capture that with an image of visiting a sort of "King of Hypocrisy." The form is

"

Hypocrisy Proxy

A Pleased welcome, Lord.
Sit on sound mind.
Perch for a blink,
a small wrinkle
if you will.

Please no entreaties,
these halls  travel  beyond.
Endless mirrors smooth your reflection
not played, only pawned.
Please no vanities.

Yes you did not.
You’re no pot.
Flops cover flips.
He never slips.
Found the box,
Sold the soap

Yes you did.

The King is never late!
Try on this hat while you wait.
