Wrecked

Wrecked

A Poem by kristen0928

What does the wreckage of a heart look like?
If I turned inside myself to see
The remnants remaining inside of me

What does a heart look like
Under construction
Rebuilding
Rekindling
Restructuring
Still recovering from mass destruction

Fragmented
Sharp edges
Stitched pieces
And still

Oozing out love from the core
And the sides
Imperfectly beating
Bandaged inside of the ring
Ready to toss up and fight again

Outside can you see the wreckage within
Or is it only visible when I pick up this pen
And the words flow freely
A message straight from my soul
Fleeing and desperately begging to be told

About
I love writing and reading. I have trouble sleeping. I think too much and love too deep. I have too many feelings and ponderings about life, and write therapeutically (as I'm sure most people do) more..

Running Running
