Dying Light

Dying Light

A Poem by Kristen Grace

As the leaves are changing
I notice a harsh light
As my memory is fading
I can't help but feel a fright

Slowly, softly, blissfully
I become accustomed to the light
Each night getting brighter
I  am starting to feel alright

As my loved ones gather
My breath becomes so shallow
I look over at the ones I love
"Don't worry, It get's better"

I watch my friends and family
Starting to fade away
Once a thought so frightening
Now just slips away.

I awaken with the sudden thought
That I have become light
I find myself in my dying clothes
Forever sleep is not a plight

Don't cry for me loved ones
I am more than alright
All the pain of living now
Leaves me as I pass through the night.

Wow nice writeup, creating the illusion of what happen in day time ending up slowing as the night comes.

Really impressed with it.
