A feeling I think most of us have had for someone, at least once in our lives

Have I ever told you

That from the very first night we met

You were the one.

That from the first time you made me smile

You were the one.

Have I ever told you

That from the first time you held me

You were the one.

Everything you did

Everything you said

You were the one.

They say

You never know what you have got until it is gone

The truth is

I knew what I had

I just never thought I would lose it.

I wish I had told you

Over and over and over again

That from the very first time you smiled at me

You were the one!

 

You were, you are

And you always will be

The One.
