INGRAINED

INGRAINED

A Poem by kublakhan27
"

"

Ingrained in every last tomorrow

you have been and will be

but in the flame

fueled recession

of tonight

you stand grainy

but gleaming

I'm here too

standing next to you

gleaming

but grainy

Cinnamon and sugar

bump a chuckle

out of my poetic

wad of non-fiction

errands

Every last tomorrow

Some seep

out of vision like

a little lake from

a broken dam

Others seep into now

like a model worker

punching in early

Now is alive

and it's real as a dream

while asleep

Cinnamon and sugar

dance in a puff

inside my palm

Let the souring colours

do their worst

I can administer

enflamings of your being

through my fingertips

What you said

is the mere vehicle

of your remembered voice

What you are is an angel's

seashell reminder

of what a mind can do with a photograph

How did I not realize a photo is a hand-held angel?

A very soulful, personal write. Love the last stanza and your closing line. Photographs are exactly that...a hand-held angel. They grant us peace, comfort, and stir our imaginations. Without photographs and memories there would be no growth, no reminders, no keepsakes. Brilliant writing, Steve.

Haha Right on ;) So glad you enjoyed it Red, thank you as always :)
Sweet cinnamon & sugar write Steve, a wee bit different than your usual pen, released from somewhere deep in the throaty utterances of remembrances and warm bits of affection's light. I can't say enough about this one, it has touched me in a way I can't really describe my friend.

On a lighter note, I'm not gonna even ask what a 'poetic wad' might be ;-)

100 dreamy angel kisses xoxo

it's like we are two pictures side by side...a combination of cinnamon and sugar...a little out of focus and grainy because we have had so many "every last tomorrows"---there is still heat, but sometimes the flame is too much...and sometimes the sweetness is overwhelming...

and yet...i realize finally...i am real, you are the dream, the picture of a dream...

you are gone...and i am holding your picture...the picture of an angel...

i wish i could remember you even better than i do.

amazing write Steve...but you never disappoint..one person here who constantly inspires me to write.

i leave your words, and some of mine come into view.
