Dutch Boy

Dutch Boy

A Poem by Nautili

I am a twenty-first century Dutch boy.
My feeble finger stuck in the dike’s leak.
I want to stop the pain in your soul.
But incessant pressure mounts up,
and more leaks spout.

I am a twenty-first century Mother.
I want to fix it, but I can’t.
I try in my feeble ways, but I can’t.
So I do what I can do.
I pray. Incessantly, I pray.
