A Crescent Moon Arose-1st in series

A Crescent Moon Arose-1st in series

A Poem by Nautili

A crescent moon arose,

wrapped in a flimsy shroud.

Alluring garment that she chose,

a slinky, silver cloud.

Sparkling stars did scatter

to pay homage to the beauty queen,

Did their veneration flatter?

Inspiration to wane so lean?

Enraged Venus did muster

amorous charms to engage,

O how alluring her satin luster,

yet crescent moon lit up centre stage.

Venus’ serene composure undone,

“Mercurial, sycophant stars,

Diana has seduced you and won!”

In her fury, she flew to enlist the aid of Mars.

Nautili
somehow I got the idea of two beautiful rivals both wanting the adulation of the myriad of stars filling the night sky.....hope for a second installment soon.

Ok this is one of your best I've read so far. It's an easy read. The format is well done. Great Job!

A traditional rhythm which serves the extraordinary prose.

What a vast piece, encompassing the sky as its canvass. Beautifully confessed, this is one that lends itself to a deeper, richer sense of the world. That which is beyond our normal vision, but you capture it so well.
