Season

Season

A Poem by Lori Mack

Soon I'll have no one.
Don't be sad for me.
It's the season I'm in.
My children are grown.
My only grandchild lives far away.
I have chose to be single.
Love was never in the cards for me.
Don't be sad for me.
It's the season I'm in.
You will be here too one day.
This is a part of life.
We all wonder off alone.
Out of rebellion when we're young.
And again when we get older.
Many start loosing their interest.
And that just fine with me.
Wisdom has taught me to let go.
Don't be sad for me
It's the season I'm in.

I don't know dear Lori. We decide our seasons. I decided to watch three grandchildren daily. I was lucky. I had AWOL parent and my grandparent raised me. I try to be like them. In the end. We need someone to love us. Love is all we got. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

life indeed is like a season. At any given point in its evolution one can feel they are living in a moment of lasting spring, summer, fall, or winter. We change much like these seasons. Emotions can send us adrift into them. I've had a long winter. Enjoyed this poem because it does resonate in the heart.
