Tempting Danger

Tempting Danger

A Poem by god is not great, I am

I sit watching as a man slowly and carelessly makes his way across a busy intersection. Cars sitting at the red lights, their eager, power filled engines idling, much like a beast stalking its prey. The man however seems to be deaf to the threat of their roar. Never giving so much as a thought to their presence, he casually strolls by as if walking in a park.
As I watch, I am suddenly realizing how much this incident mirrors my recent behaviors in life. If there was an image for the way I had been living then this might very well be it. Walking dangerously close to my predators, never paying any mind to the threat they present, never caring to think of it.

The connections you make are so intuitive: you see more in the smallest moments than others see in their entire lives.

I really love the way you write. The unstructured, raw feel really just brings out that much more emotion. You just lay it on the table, here it is, take it or leave it, this is what I have to say. And I like that.

I like the analogy you made here between being at an intersection among crazy traffic and unseen dangers and life. It's clever.
