A simple short poem about the end of a friendship

Goodbye to the girl I used to call friend.

There's no turning back, this is the end.

 

Goodbye to the girl with no self-esteem.

Goodbye to the girl who didn't let me dream.

 

Goodbye to the girl filled with all the hate.

Its too late now, you've sealed your fate.

 

Goodbye to the girl who never has a smile.

Goodbye to the girl who cares only about style.

 

Goodbye to the girl always filled with rage.

She chose to live her life trapped in a cage.

 

Goodbye to the girl who is always mean.

Goodbye to the girl who thinks she is queen.

 

Goodbye to the girl who has never been true.

Goodbyes are for real, this goodbye is to you.

It is hard for me to say goodbye to people. I have abandonment issues, I suppose you could say. I wish I could manage my goodbyes like this - the summary and the power of the conclusion, which spoke with such power. It definitely beats my passive aggressive trying to get them to say goodbye instead...

Sometimes we hang on to a friendship longer than we should. It sounds to me like you tried to deal with her faults as long as you could. It's good to get emotions like these out on paper and it really does help to deal with things. You wrote this very well and the subject matter is unique.
