Missing Piece

Missing Piece

A Poem by laceyjane23
"

A poem about how sometimes we change inside, and struggle to find the part of us that we lost.

"

In my dreams, I see you there.

The girl with the smile upon her face.

Gently running your fingers through your hair.

A smile so sweet, so young and carefree.

I wish there was someway to find you.

The you I used to be.

I wish I knew what went wrong,

I haven't seen a smile in so long.

Beauty is only skin deep, but pain cuts to your soul.

I wish I could find the missing piece.

The part to make me whole.

The pain in my heart, the tears cried at night.

I wish I could find a way to make it alright.

Part of me is lost, waiting to be found.

Until I find the strength to look.

Deep inside my soul is where you are bound.

I really liked how you expressed this. You definately aren't alone. I feel the same way. I think of how happy and carefree I used to be, and I just can't help but wonder what happened to that girl, also. I guess it's just a little part of growing up, sadly.

i'm so happy i decided to keep reading your work, back into your older pieces cuz i keep finding these gems sitting here just waiting to be read and enjoyed! granted this is a sad piece, so what's there to "enjoy" here, but there is something to enjoy... reading someone's personal life experience and how to they deal with it...

as someone else already mentioned below..., you can find that part of yourself that's missing and you will :D you have to ready to is all, cuz with finding that part of you that's missing you're also going to come face to face with the reason she went into hiding too. facing the demons of our past is wicked scary and takes all of our courage.

Faerie Blessings!

What a great piece! I think we all go through an awkward stage when we are finding ourselves. Until we get it right, something feels wrong or out of place. I very much love all your writing, and this is no exception.
Your words...."
A smile so sweet, so young and carefree.
I wish there was someway to find you.
The you I used to be."
...this is amazing and the reader gets lost in your words and thinks upon them to relate.
Wonderfully written!

I like this poem because it's very relatable. We all feel like we've lost a part of ourselves from growing up, maybe it's the fact that we have to mature. I've always been afraid of change because I find that when you choose to go down one path, there's always something else that you lose, even if it's seemingly for the better. Nice job!

This is simply wonderful. It speaks sorrowfully of pain that the reader can touch as they move through the piece. Nicely done!

I don't think this needs a thing! You have covered the pain of growing up emotionally with depth of expression. I believe many will be able to see themselves in the confusion of missing pieces. This piece is well-rounded and informative.
Great job, especially for a first attempt.
Cheers,
Helen :-)

First of all thanks reviewing my work. I too like the simplisity of your writing as well. I sometimes find it hard to comprehend some writing and its so nice to be able to read a nice and simple peice and know exactly whats being said.

This is the value of good writing. I love this poem. You did a good job illustrating the isolation we can feel even within ourselves.
