Fell In Love

Fell In Love

A Poem by Tai Ryens
"

And we both fell in love . . . as we did fall to death.

"

I indulged the cup of lust,

basked before a stripping devil

pleading to feel my skin;

it is only natural that

death would gargle froth in my face,

and spit forth gallows,

stained by the wicked blood

of which temptation seduced,

corrupted down to the very marrow

were the hollow ribs of they

whom stood before the

very same device,

and I

Why then,

would my stomach churn

before the wretch

beside me?

Bound and tied was she,

damned to the very same gallows,

and yet she smiles.

At me?

At death?

I would never know,

but I smiled back

Woe,

curse every minute,

for they pass as years,

tormented by bliss

and sorrow,

regret that I chased lust

and not the soul behind

her chest

I so often wish

that I could caress your neck

in place of that noose,

or perhaps your sleeves

wrapped around my spine,

embracing death as you did I,

and perhaps then

I'd be content,

strangled in heaven's clutches

And before we knew it,

we both fell in love instantaneously

as did we fall to our deaths

"And before we knew it,

as we did fall to our deaths" It seems if you switched 'we did' to 'did we' it would be smoother. I have no critique other than that. It's rock solid. :)

Thanks, tweaking now . . .
Wow, dark and beautiful thread woven skillfully together to make a piece such as this.

If this be writer's block I'd be glad to take it. XD

Wonderful.write, Tai.
