Empty Skies

Empty Skies

A Poem by Tai Ryens

empty skies dot the horizon
of the days I live,
days that drag on by
like years
of eventide
lingering above me

in the daytime, I
find no difference,
for the cloudy skies
always seem
to block the sun
or hide the shooting stars

the only constellations
in the darkness of my life
are the reflections
of the sun
beating down on your
wet fingertips

you are welcome
life can really feel this way...so empty...no matter how beautifully halcyon blue the skies are.

sort of like Hamlet said "this oer hanging firmament seems nothing more than a congestion of vapors" or something close to that...
memories cling and shadow.
