Holding Regrets

Holding Regrets

A Poem by Ashton

Those last words I heard you say

I swore to god I’d hope you’d pay.

But then a deed that you had done

It came around and left me with no one.

You left me here all alone

And she fell in love in a f*****g bone.

Having to move to a new home

I felt like I lived in a whispering dome.

At first I was happy though it was bad

And later on I couldn’t move on cause I had been to sad.

New home, new life, I couldn’t ask for anything more twice

But then people started to give me not very good advice.

“Go on and try, just make new friends”

Who would have known those all had bad ends?

I know I hated you back then and before

So I shoved your memories into a drawer.

Then I decided to take it out

Because all I wanted to do anymore was whine or pout.

So I hope you’re up there listening to

Because I just really wanna say that I love you.

A dad is a dad no matter how they act

Even if they don’t try with you to interact.

Nothing can take a dad’s place in your heart

Because in the end it will cause you to tear apart.
