Walking -but not really

Walking -but not really

A Poem by Larry Dyson
"

journal entry or short descriptive writing about how Ishe process life

"

inspiration from observation/journal entry or short descriptive writing about how she processes life

Walking- but not really

Focus on sandy feet on the beach at waves edge…

She walked to think-and sometimes just to let her screaming mind -not think…

No,  just not processing what was there, clawing its way up her emotions and privacy

Things like -”how dare they” “its my quiet place and I’ve worked so hard for it?”

Watching as the tides ebb and flow -moves the jetsam and flotsam of the oceans trade about

The industries oils raping of the subculture and biosphere now depositing black turds on the once pristine beach

Not being noticed like the drops of rain now falling

She walks to find "Me " in the chaos and confusion

Oblivion to all else required

And then She finds herself on some desolate stretch of waterfront

Ready to cope " no,- ready to endure the next onslaught to my being".

I like the way you sneak the oil turds into your otherwise blistering exposure of feelings. I noticed you mentioned 'She' at the onset, then walks into the first person .. either a little error or I've misinterpreted.

To walk, to walk freely - for me, quickly - is one of the greatest ways of emptying the mind of negatives: ' Ready to cope " no ready to endure the next onslaught to my being".'

Freedom to walk, wander by the sea seems to wash away the turmoil inside .. your words suggest it's like a baptism .. 'Not being noticed like the drops of rain now falling' - that and the snatched kisses of the sea-spray

ahhhh~ I know that feeling very well~ I take the canoe or kayak and paddle paddle paddle until all there is is movement and muscle and the mind fuses to the canopy above~

Sometimes the only freedom we find is in walking.........and to release or make sense of what weighs heavily on us, you have written a great piece, showing the turmoil that one feels and resigning oneself to the battle ahead.
