Emotional Sanity

Emotional Sanity

A Poem by Larry Dyson
"

written for a friend, expressions of Eternity

Emotional sanity ...

purge my soul in an ocean blue...

tips of waves crashing...

white in color and lashing out...

stabalize my life for now.

this looks more like tanka than haiku, which is fine, i love tanka, i havent read any in a very long time, so this was very refreshing. again, you end with bit of a stunning juxstaposition, the crashing and the lashing, and then stabalizing, nicely done. really enjoyed this.

This reminds me of watching the wind capture the waves of Lake Superior the other day. I find it both relaxing and watching the waves has a restorative quality to the soul. I suppose its the rhythm of the waves and the sound of it crashing upon the shore. beautiful work

There is truly both a beauty and a fierceness found in the sea.. and in this powerful metaphor as well. Peace and passion, mingling all into a person who can find a balance in the seasons of life.

This is a segment of something much more. Each word you listed here in its order is a deeper shade of you. I think you did a great job.

I guess we all get there, sometimes, the waves are harder on some of us.

I imagine that the gift was much appreciated.
