Anchors Aweigh

Anchors Aweigh

A Poem by LeGingersnap

As I breathe in my mind stops, peacefully

When I exhale old words flood in

Release is bitter and sweet

Peaceful, like it is something I once had

Forgetting is a gift

Remembering is what I’m given

Living in a ship made of wood

Sailing smooth and treacherous waters

Throw the anchor

Hold me down

Keep me here

Even in the storm

As I read this I pictured it in my mind as a short film (a really short film) .

And I loved this line:
"Forgetting is a gift,
Remembering is what I'm given"

Great portrait painted here. i think most people could find something in this that they can relate to their own life. Great words.
