Playing With My Heart

Playing With My Heart

A Poem by Rachel

Boy you play with my heart
Like a musician plays a violin
At times swiftly, softly and sweetly
You can make me smile and feel all tingly from head to toe
But you also pull the strings like a gardner pulling on the weeds from her garden
Leaving my heart ripped at the along it's delicate walls

Boy why you play with my heart?
Why you play with my mind?
Don't you know I'm just tryn' to make it out alive
Someday you'll realize all these tricks you play
Made me your helpless prey

Boy maybe you'll never know
What it's like to wait out here alone
Alone in the shadows of the thick woods
Stuck in the bushes and thorns
Through all the coulds and shoulds

Boy if I told you how I felt
Would it make your heart melt?
Only if the universe allows
Will I ever learn what life is like
To stand out to you in a crowd
