In the Nightingale's Song

In the Nightingale's Song

A Poem by Louise Whalen

temperamental, furious, raging, ever-changing
the tempor, the swallowed fear, the jutting of tiny girl's body
i'm in the song of the nightingale, the song of the storm

swirling, indefinite, soaked, and running
the rain, the currents, howling screams of wind
i'm in the song of the nightingale, the song of the flight

quieting, sailing, dried drops of perspiration, the failing sounds of precipitation
the haul off, the gone, the traveler's tears
i'm the song of the nightingale, the song of the far-away

small town life, stamps, letter-heads, and typewriters
poems, verses, voices, and vibrating machinery
i'm the song of the nightingale, the song of the giver

farewell, a thousand steps, the never-end, the believer
the broken lover, the clamorous crier, realization
i'm the song of the nightingale, the song of the epiphany

I really enjoyed this piece. I'm not sure that I actually understand it, but it's so beautiful and flowing and emotion invoking, I don't think it matters..

This is good. I loved the last line in each stanza. The poem flowed well. Great work!

I loved this, I definitely could hear music with it. The repetitiveness of the last line of each stanza was a nice addition. Great write.
