Lips

Lips

I wanted you to lick me

on the couch

Thoughts of us together

made my lips pout

I close my eyes

to see ours meet

Your view from below

Across the dunes of my torso

Make me twitch

and flick

Like your tongue

through my lips

I did the job

I had wanted for you

You missed your chance

for meeting a new

Because your watch said

“Time.”

Secs you did not have

Less we rewind

So I take back

that which is mine

Saved only for the kind

The soft, the wet

ever aching to be met

But never by you

Bid adieu

to the lips you never knew

I do love erotica that is not vulgar. This is an exquisite example of that genre. The poet uses symbolism and suggestion to build up a tantalizingly sensual effect. The speaker's sex is not stated, but it comes across as overwhelmingly feminine. What we have is a description of how a guy blew his chance because of his impatience. The last lines indicate he will never get another one. I was born and grew up in Norfolk, but this is the hottest stuff I have ever seen come out of that town. Well done.
