Samantha Eloise Carter

Samantha Eloise Carter

A Poem by EdenHarper

Dear Samantha Eloise Carter,

The course to a battle we charter

Your trusting heart is what I did break

When this wearisome road is what I did take

Dear Samantha Eloise Carter,

I ner’ fashioned myself a martyr

I pray that you think it not unjust

That with my foes; only blood is their lust

Dear Samantha Eloise Carter,

Our love is something they cannot barter

So when I lay down in the scarlet

I will whisper softly “Please do not fret”-

Dear Samantha Eloise Carter’s cheeks are wet

But I will keep whispering “Please do not fret.
