Mermaid's Home

Mermaid's Home

A Poem by lightningoddess
"

This one is for my sea-loving friends who wish they, too, could live under the water.

"
The ocean guards many secrets,
And awaits the moons pull.
What creatures do its waters hide
When their waves are magic-lit?
There is a place where ocean meets
A creature so perfect and serene,
A place where magic is the ruling force,
A holy ground where mermaids lay.

Here these creatures live diverse
And swim among the seaweed's fronds.
To lift up their voices to the moon and sun,
To live and breathe and later die.
In peace and strength and harmony
These beings live to serve and see
That though they are hidden
And hidden they always will be
This is their place, their home, their world.
This is this is the secret the ocean hides
And this is the life by which I abide.
