Loves Lasting Melody

Loves Lasting Melody

A Poem by Linear
"

Just another poem of love

"
The relentless winds of time
Have enfolded us
Both you and I.
Remember the days long long ago
When we were young
Vibrant.energetic in our love

Days passed so slowly
They were days of sweet rapture
We lived inside a bubble
Like naked cherubs
Laughing, loving with all we had to give.

Often we would lie entangled
In aromatic emotions
(Did we ever come up for air?)
We became one
In all that, that could possibly mean

Now those years have fled
Passed us by
(time does that)
Yet still we hold onto each other
You with grey upon your head
Myself a little less hair
And a paunch
Perhaps a little stooped.

But I look at you now
And still that twinkle is clear in your eyes
As you say
"It's late my love come to bed"
And It's only half past eight

There is a beautiful confession in your words.. looking back through those eyes of love... remembering those moments.. and somehow, letting them fill your heart and mind again... This made me smile and sigh...

I'm not usually a big 'love poem' guy, but this is loved dressed in life. the truths drip the page. I felt it. Really powerful.
Cheers!
