The Games we Play

The Games we Play

A Poem by Linear
"

Not much

"
You thought you knew me
and the games I played
You hung a sign on me

No you never knew me
Promises never were broken
I told you I would come
I would be there

You forgot the game.

And thats when
I finally realised what pain felt like
I saw you
You didn't see me, you weren't meant to
A surprise I thought it would be

What a fool I was
To see him hold you
Caress you
And those soft velvet hands
Perfect hands that held my heart

Crushed that still beating pulsating organ
Till the blood dripped between fingers
Falling red tears
Frozen as icicles
Shattered as they hit the floor like my dreams

I wish now that I had never been born.
Yet the game carried on

my best advice as a writer..
getting screwed over by the opposite sex is always gonna be your crappiest work
I'm not calling this crap, but your other stuff is better
and I'm saying at least expand ur metaphors and let your mind say what your emotions can't alone. it tells a truer tale than the old he/she ripped my heart out cliche, *yawn

The piece itself felt like a game, bringing you in and taking you through various emotions.

I love the emotion you can feel it reading through your poem.

There is a painful longing here.. looking back to those rules and rights that all went wrong... the shadow plays that brought you so close, yet cut you open in the end. Vibrant, heartbreaking metaphor.

This is a sad tale you weave here. It makes me wonder exactly what the person in this story saw. Caress can be many things. This is a tale of love gone wrong.

Strong words and a lot of emotion. Description made emotions and feeling become regretful and painful.
