Timeless and Tender

Timeless and Tender

A Poem by Linda Marie Van Tassell

Moonlight etches our shadowed caress
across a canvas of burning sand
as night winds lift the hem of my dress
that magically kisses your hand.

Starlight splendor is laced in my hair.
A blonde stream falls against your shoulder.
If I were to die, I would not care.
Let the darkness around us smolder.

Timeless and tender, against the night,
we are the starlight ever-bursting.
Bound by a thousand rays of moonlight,
we are the ocean, always thirsting.

We are an anchor for shore and sea,
one shadow that dances for all time,
the ebb and flow of all that will be
floating throughout the pages of rhyme.

Heaven in heart is eternal bliss,
the pearl of life in a shell of shore.
Timeless and tender, the sweet winds' kiss,
it flutters freely forevermore.

About
Poetry has been my passion since I was about fifteen years old, and I love the structure of rhyme and meter moreso than just randomly throwing words upon a page without any form whatsoever. Whi.. more..
