We End

We End

A Poem by Linda Marie Van Tassell

Stars blaze and brighten around the crescent moon,
over stem and stone and castles built of sand.
Seeds of fire and flowers of flame, sparked by dew,
come to life under the shadow of God's hand.

Paradise promises echo through silence,
like leaves lifted within a temperate breeze.
All things are sacred in the Gold of His rib,
stirred from the Spirit of the salient seas.

Awaken with the passion of an affair,
like two hands playing on a Spanish guitar,
singing His praises and composing your fate,
glittering bright until you fade like a star.

For life is born among the flowers of spring
then becomes tangled among weeds and the vine.
Brown shades of winter blanket the countryside,
a sure sign that the day has met its decline.

Fly away and dream on the nightingale's wing
until you hover in the pulse of the wind,
etched in the blue silence seeking the serene
that is the beginning which we call the end.

About
Poetry has been my passion since I was about fifteen years old, and I love the structure of rhyme and meter moreso than just randomly throwing words upon a page without any form whatsoever. Whi.. more..
