Will and Way

Will and Way

A Poem by Linda Marie Van Tassell
"

A man has his will, but the woman has her way.

"

When fantasies' waves are passionately breaking,
no longer peaceful but swelling with emotion,
the golden light of a summer dawn is waking,
forever eternal like the deepest ocean.

As we circle around the year 2009,
your words inspire this lovely lady to believe
in dreams that dance, with your body pressed into mine,
with my smile in your eyes and your heart on my sleeve.

Decadent words are stretched like an electric wire
along the bloom of desire and rapturous wave,
passionately stoking flames of spirituous fire
along the spine of a nubile, submissive slave.

When the night wings over and there is time for rest,
may you smell the fragrance of a maiden's flower
whose pearl is glistening and whose petals are pressed
into the moist pages of love's passionate hour.

A man has his will, but the woman has her way.
He is a drop of ink in the quill of her pen
whose rhyme is rising in rhythmic waves roundelay
with promises of somehow, somewhere, and somewhen.

wonderful imagery and metaphors as you conduct this trial of desire . I can feel a silkiness within your phrasing .

exquisite ink lines ~ vines of passion beautifully engraved~
how I adore these lines

A man has his will, but the woman has her way.
He is a drop of ink in the quill of her pen

this is a cosy familiarity~ love moves deep into the skin~ ink disgorges every moment in literary Rorschach passion schematics~

Linda; You blow me away with every poem I read. Just when I am thinking you can't out do yourself, you do it again-. This is a torrid fantasy, woven like a waking dream with a sensitivity for words and structure unparalleled in the history of writing. (I may be exaggerating a bit here), but don't we all exaggerate to get our point across ?
Here, you go from the initial implosion of fantasies' emotion, through the volcanic eruption which ensues; across time and space, then through the" spirituous fire" which travels "along the spine of a nubile, submissive slave". We are then given a waft of" the fragrance of a maiden's flower" as her " petals are pressed into the moist pages of love's passionate hour." You then skilfully bring us back to the point of origin, which is the writer herself, the lover and the writer's incredulous imagination. Superbly written, with a rhyme and rhythm so subtle as to whisper one through the ride and the read. Your writing conjures painterly images, empathic feelings and nurtures a wholistic connectedness to your theme. Most brilliantly intuitive.....

Those two lines alone make this poem a great read... when a woman inspires a man the possibilities are endless... really a beautiful piece of writing.

Poetry has been my passion since I was about fifteen years old, and I love the structure of rhyme and meter moreso than just randomly throwing words upon a page without any form whatsoever. Whi.. more..
