Smitten

Smitten

A Poem by Linda Marie Van Tassell
"

So much deeper than deeper can be.

"

If you want my love through all the seasons,
I will give you all that I am and more.
I will live for your love, love you for life,
and give you all that you are searching for.

I will stay forever, never let go.
There's so much more that I'm aching to say.
The words in my heart feel trapped in a dam,
but I will say them somehow in someway.

So rich is the harvest you can collect.
Though I am with you, I'm not really there.
I want to be with you more than you'll know.
It is no secret that I truly care.

My heart it hungers, it kindles, and hears
the beating of yours when it's beating too.
I can taste your sweetness and touch your flesh.
I feel the essence that is only you.

If you love and I love beyond all time
and if we love like no other can be,
it will last forever, deeper than deep,
and so much deeper than deeper can be.

I hold the distance, our passage to peace,
the rhythmic waves that endlessly advance,
caravan of dreams that lead to your door,
where, hand-in-hand, together, we shall dance.

I smile in my heart, so happy to find
what I cannot capture in word nor speech,
the greatest love of all, love of all loves,
the love that seemed to be just out of reach.

Though traveled and tired, I never regret;
for, I am breathless with love, not fatigue.
Things are beyond what the body can know
and much further than the mind can intrigue.

The world might not know it; but I show it,
endeavor, and continuously try
to set free the heart that whispers with wings,
whose form and features are ready to fly.

The sky will embrace it and set it free,
all of my love that is loving you sweet,
and the clouds will fade like smoke in the night.
Love is a circle that circles complete.

Spectacular write, once again! I loved the way you used your words to create a powerful image and convey a message about falling in love. In all respect, I still found that at times, the meter was a bit off. Maybe it was the way I read it. Anyhow, this was brilliant work! Another great flow of words and beauty.

now this write does justice to the first work of yours' that i had read . though that was the epitome this is quite good in its own way . the language is simple and yet you have been able to bring out the emotions subtly yet aptly . really liked the way you aren't willing to lose hope and ready to wait forever for your love . thanks for sharing

This is very beautiful. I would quote my favorite lines, but there are too many to quote! ;)
This makes me wish I knew what love feels like. Well, THIS kind of love, I mean. (I'm only 12 years old, so I sometimes find it hard to relate to some poetry on this website, as you could imagine.)

About
Poetry has been my passion since I was about fifteen years old, and I love the structure of rhyme and meter moreso than just randomly throwing words upon a page without any form whatsoever. Whi.. more..
