Winterberry

Winterberry

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

.is what I make.

"

When I don't have anything

I make things to exist beyond

All the beautiful things

That make you weep

I keep them close

What we loved over

I call it winterberry

What I keep for ever

What you cannot take away

Not from me

No not never

When I don't have any reason

not to wait for u

I think of Winterberry

and here am i

Winterberry .. what a wonderful word, for your own personal treasured world. ( when you have nothing at all to remember well!) You portray the feeling of having everything taken away, simply but really effectively. Your poem ends on 'i'. Very significant, keep that 'i' filled with 'winterberry'!

It's one of my favorites too. My only good s**t is the short stuff.
Where can one acquire such a berry?
I enjoyed the flow of this poem, it does indeed feel like a mantra, like KWP mentioned.

In the last part, "u" should be spelt "you" and the "i" at the end should be a capital!

Other than that, good!

Smooth write with a relatable content. The title really drew me in, beautifully expressed and awakened my.curiosity so I decided to pay a visit. Gentle with a feeling of melancholy and almost-nostalgia. I enjoyed reading.

Thanks Banessa
Is this an older piece? it feels familiar. I'm feelin this, it's beautifully expressed and I know I've told you this before but I love these gentler writes. This is a piece I could read over and over. R xo

Not at all its one of those pieces that's worth revisiting
sounds almost like a mantra that one can tell to themselves when they really want to let something/someone go from their lives forever, cos you know, deep down when you ask yourself, is this good for me? what does it mean to me if I keep hanging on? you know you simply have to let go because today will never be yesterday and the chance of yesterday's feelings coming back in the exact same form are slim to none ... and what's the point anyway? if you have gotta let go then snap the branch, it's harsh to begin with but as you say, if you create things to keep close in times of dire need, they can certainly first act as a diversion and even change the current tack of one's trajectory ...

spiralling out of control ...

this is a great bunch of words, as such I can read them ovr and over and see them in a new 'spectrum of light' I can see exactly what I want to see, and then if I shift it a bit I can see what others may see too, it changes, like each moment, never the same ....

Yeah, it's always good to have a little personal something to make you happy. I've recently (as in this morning, while the sun still had its hot little butt in bed) started creating that little something for myself, not that I'm not already happy. Anywho, I enjoyed reading this. Keep on writing, man. :)
