Anti Fossil

Babysitting and tool making

Predators, prey and mass extinctions

In lucky ingenuity 

Worn out fancy shoes

Tired social responsibility

Pairs of clever clothes

Worn just right

Warming you and me

  us and them

Shaping flesh that lasts

Into enduring creatures

Breaking boundaries

Making history

Remembering what came

Before the dying

Before the birthing

How to keep our sons, our daughters

From becoming, exactly nothing

Into becoming,,, 

Much More than water

 more than dirt, more than rock

Far beyond just a shape, dissolved into an object

Formed into, some passive landmark. . .

It takes each other 

To make us more

Because we care, to take good care

Of one another...

And thats religion

And God is optional

In this survival,

 it takes a human 

 with a human

To transcend time

It takes each other

 to make one more

It takes a thought

To see it through

The darkest dark

  to make it last

It takes the group

To realize hope

 To shine on through

It takes us all

To go so far
