Thirsty for Life

Thirsty for Life

A Poem by indu
"

(for a contest about trees) if ever they could express their thirst..

I am thirsty.

For life, the water is dried out.

My woods are pale,

Shredding away to Ashes to earth

as I pray.

The hardest visitor in the desert,

Thy art I seek.

The drizzles, the puddles of love

I envision.

The clouds to circle my path to heaven

hindering my view of sun; my Lord.

The cold wind to touch my peeling skin,

as the pain moves to the roots.

To feel the tiny droplets,

on every bit of me.

To Flow through me

Filling every hollowness in me.

Washing every sin off me,

Quenching  my thirst.

And the hopes in me,

to burst in the shape of green buds.

Hardly a reality.

As the soil delve my way out.

My thirst, my hunger is

to die with me,

as my branches are drying out.

I will say….

Drought seeks relief in the spiritual realm and can only be content with immersion. I think of India and Mother Theresa and the psalms.
