Little Pieces

Little Pieces

A Poem by Madi.

Little Pieces

She looks into the mirror and sees herself in all

A strawberry-blonde with grey-blue eyes

A girl that’s creative and smart

A girl that has hopes and dreams to go somewhere

A girl that wants to be so many things

She is loving and kind because of the pain she’s seen

She’s protective because she doesn’t want anyone else to feel her pain

She bottles it up inside so no one can be bothered with it

One little piece

She has beautiful eyes

Beautiful because of the tears they’ve shed

Her heart is kind

The kindest hearts have seen the most pain

She’s picking up the pieces of a shattered heart

Mending them together one by one

Her mind runs wild

It speaks of things unheard of

Never telling anyone what she thinks about

A genius in disguise

Two little pieces

She has beautiful eyes

Beautiful because of the tears they’ve shed

Her heart is kind

The kindest hearts have seen the most pain

She’s picking up the pieces of a shattered heart

Mending them together one by one

She has her friends

They stay by her side through thick and thin

Through darkness and sunshine

She protects them against the evil that tears her mind apart

Three little pieces

Beautiful because of the tears they’ve shed

Her heart is kind

The kindest hearts have seen the most pain

She’s picking up the pieces of a shattered heart

Mending them together one by one

Two sides battle in her mind

One good

The other like a demon

The good says one thing

The evil disagrees and says another

The two sides forever disagree

Four little pieces

Beautiful because of the tears they’ve shed

Her heart is kind

The kindest hearts have seen the most pain

She’s picking up the pieces of a shattered heart

Mending them together one by one

A monstrous reader

One who can read every day and night

A brilliant writer she hopes one day to be

Drama runs through her veins

Taking everything to the extreme

This makes her writing good

Five little pieces

If you put it all together you get the finished product

The girl that is still finding her place in the world

A girl that has many hopes and dreams

Big, wild, unthinkable dreams for a quiet girl like her

Her friends reveal the real her

The girl without the mask

The girl that’s not afraid

The finished puzzle

I enjoyed reading this very much. It depicts how the human being is composed of little pieces. All the experiences we've all been through make us who we are today. It's a very real poem with a deep metaphor. The battle between good and bad inside of us and how we act to events in our lives, is very much so real. On another end, I really liked the fact that she's looking in the mirror, because often times when we look at ourselves in the mirror we are reflecting on everything that is bound to happen or will happen. Furthermore, mirrors reflect physical changes in our bodies after undergoing challenges with good or bad outcomes. At the end of the day we want all the pieces to come together to form a puzzle. Every piece you wrote was beautiful and all together rendered a real reflection. Wonderfully written.

Loved this one! From what I can gather, experiences play a pretty powerful role in your poetry, and it shows! You capture every emotion with perfection, perfection that can be achieved only through experience. Thanks for sharing! :)
