I could still feel my teeth tingling from my last kill. Blood awashed in my mouth. The flavor tasted tangy, different. But satisfying. I had caught myself looking at my prey, realizing I used to be one. A human. That one word made me sick to my stomach. I hated my human memories. The time when I was useless and weak. I couldn't protect the ones I loved. Now, I was stronger. Faster. Smarter. The only price was I lost the one I really loved. Ceira. But she turned on me. Betrayed me. She had found another. I spotted Silver leaning over another human, her teeth pressed into it's neck. Without a doubt, I realized it was a boy. I twenty-six year old man, I calculated. I saw Silver stand, her bloodred eyes staring at me. Pircing me. "Hey, kid," she said cheerfully. "I was wondering when you'd show up." "I was..." I coughed, not used to saying it in this way. "Hungry." "It's okay..." she crooned, leaning over my shoulder like a mother cradling a little child or a baby. "I forgive you." I tore away from her. "You don't have to be all mommyish." I spat at her, sitting. Silver suddenly looked up. I copyed her action, seeing when she was seeing. With a rythmic gasp, I stood next to Silver. "What are they doing?" I asked. "Oh," Silver sighed. "Aaron's not going to like this." There were probably twenty CAT's and step down transformers littering the cemetery---our cemetery. That was where we lived. The CAT's were digging up material like soil and bones from the last century or two. To live in a place where no one noticed, Aaron picked this. Aaron was our "leader", if he was even that. He gave orders, healed, and lead the small group of Vampyres that consisted of myself, Silver, Tom, Mallory, and Mike and, of course, Aaron. Our small Vampyre "coven" lived in that certain cemetery, where no one bothered us. No one came there. Ever. Now, they noticed it was deserted and decided to destory it? After all these years? I looked at Silver nervously. "Aaron's not going to like this."
Human: Ceira
Jamie and Lawrence were the "line leaders" for the day. It was like we were in fricking kindergarten again. They were always up front, though. Maybe it was to show off the first day of the first week of their romantic relationships together. Speaking of romantic relationships, Edward and I hadn't talked in a few days. He said that my boyfriend was a Vampyre. I believed him. I had looked up "VAMPYRE" on the internet the next night and found the exact measurement and desiptions of Josh Parahn. My boyfriend was a Vampyre. I couldn't accept it. So, when Edward tried to make me feel better by kissing me, I pushed him away. I couldn't start another romantic relationship when my own had failed so horribly. With style. At the front of the class, Mr. Doghse, our biology teacher, announced we were going into the woods today to collect some data. I shook my head no furiously and feverishly. I could feel my body start to heat up with nervous energy, my heart skipped a few paces, and Edward and I excanged some nervous glances. "What's the matter, Ceira?" asked Mr. Doghse, smiling. "Scared of the woods?" More than you could imagine, I thought, but instead said, "No. Just my tics." Mr. Doghse "humph"ed, then nodded and walked away. I prepaird myself for the worst moments of my life.
"Why didn't you tell them there were poison ivy out here or something?" Edward demanded while we were approaching the woods. "Now, people are gonna get eaten by your boyfriend and his new girlfriend, and it's gonna be all our fault!" I waved Edward down, like a rot wiler jumping on a poor, helpless child. "Down boy," I told him. Edward's glare continued it's pace. I sighed. "No one's gonna get eaten, Edward." I told him confidently. I couldn't finish. I was inturptted by a scream. "Are you sure?" Edward asked before we took off running. We finally reached the scene of attack. Unfortuntely, we were too late. The damage had been done. Hell had broken loose. Literally. The soil under the broken body of a student--Clare, I reconized--was not stained with blood. I wasn't suprised. The Vampyre who had done this hadn't transformed the student into a Vampyre, like they did with Josh. Or did they? Barely, just barely, I saw the broken student's chest rise up and down. I couldn't hear a heart beat. Then, I remembered; they could breathe, but they didn't have to. Their heart stopped beating when they became Vampyres. The student was a Vampyre. "Mr. Doghse!" I screamed without thinking, ripping my teacher away from the body of Clare. The newborn Vampyre lifted it's head up and peered around, then took off at inhuman speed into the forest. Sweat clung to my body, and I looked up. Edward's mouth hung open. Some of the student had already fainted. Mr. Doghse's eyes were wide with terror and suprise. I turned to him, and to the class. "Now," I said. "Do you believe me?" © 2009 allonsy_doctorReviews
