How to Live

In the dream, he was standing in front of me. When he smiled, his Vampyre teeth shone heartily in the darkness. Shame bubbled inside me; how I could take him away from the world. Stealing him. Loving him. The only Vampyre that could be so caring and wonderful was only released to the world as a Vampyre for a few hours before he was stolen. Or rather, he became a thief of hearts. He stole my heart before I even saw him. The kiss; our first kiss. Our one love that would last forever.

Ian's eyes were dark, more bloodred than usual. Tears were streaking down his face. When I went to hug him, to kiss him, he stepped away. His mouth formed words; words that meant the world to me. They did gain the process and becoming words, though. Instead they were replace with the heartsmashing statement, "We cannot be together,"

"No," I whispered, running up the hill towards him. But no matter how close I got, he seemed to become farther away until I could barely see him at all...

"Wake Up!!" I voice jolted me awake; a familiar voice. Edward's voice. My eyes flew open and I coughed hystarically. I looked up at the looming face that towered over and smiled sheepishly. Edward's expression didn't change. It just hardened.

"Hi, Eddie."

Edward sat on the bed next to me. "You were screaming about an Ian in your dream."

I froze, the breath catching in my throat.

"Who's Ian,"

"The Vampyre that attacked me," I lied

Edward was silent for a moment. Then, he tipped my chin up and looked me deep in the eyes. I pulled away, shuddering. His eyes were cold, yearning, welcoming.

And also bloodred.

I froze impathically, whispering soundlessly to myself that it couldn't be true. He couldn't be a Vampyre! He couldn't be! My best human friend was now my best Vampyre friend next to Josh...No!

"Edward," I whispered. "What happened."

"Have you even wondered what happened to me because I haven't even answered the frickin phone for days and you just keep calling and calling." he sighed, exasperated. "I was attacked."

"By who?"

He muttered something inaudioble. I shuddered wondering in i'd heard right.

"Who?"

"Jamie," he spoke softly.

"I hate Clare!!" I raged angrily. "Why the heck did she have to freakin change her best friend into a ruthless, Vampyre changing, human killing, monsterous killing machine?!"

Edward stood, then strode the to window. "I had a little talk with your friend Josh," I noticed how he hadn't said "boyfriend" like he always had. "Says that's what you think of Vampyres. Monsters." he whirled on me. "Is that what you think of me?"

"Yes," I muttered softly, hoping he couldn't catch it. Unfortuntely, he did.

Edward threw his hands up in the air, signaling defeat. "That's it, huh?" I asked, disgusted. "You like this guy a lot, then the minute he becomes a Vampyre, you hate his frickin guts. Now, I finally understand what pain a person that was once popular then becomes a lowlife goes through."

"God, Edward, I still like you!" I cried desperately.

Edward's head snapped up. He had noticed that I had said "like" instead of "love". He "love"d me, and I just "like"d him. An icy glare claimed his eyes, and he seemed to be staring right through me. I shivered, the crawled helplessly back under the blankets.

"I met Ian."

"What?!" I sprung on him.

"He loves you. More than words. You must love him more, correct?"

I was speechless.

"Guess I lost my girl," he said. "Now I understand Josh's pain. Being a Vampyre is ver educational."

Without giving me a chance to reply, he leapt out the window. And down seven storeys to the ground.

Edward was a Vampyre.

My Edward.

Could I not own anyone human anymore?

Wow! Such drama! Edward's a vamprye! I loved this book! It was totally awesome! The drama, comedy, and romance! Man, that was just super awesome! :)
