Temptations

Temptations

A Poem by amanda
"

I struggle with addiction and so does everyone else in my family. Spreading my words on paper seem just as difficult as learning when to stop something that will hurt you.

"

Writing to me is like taking that first drink

The way is runs down your throat

As you start to make that face of disgust

But as you keep on sipping

The drunker you get

The feeling

The temptation

To down the whole bottle

To drown the page in words

TEMPTATIONS....

Writing,
to me, is
like taking
that first drink.

The way
it runs down
your throat, as
you start to make
that face of disgust.

But, as
you keep sipping,
the drunker you get.

The feeling,
the temptation to
down the whole bottle,

to drown the page
… in words.
