Transitions

Transitions

A Poem by lizc0123
"

Inspired by the following excerpt from the novel, Hope For The Flowers: "How does one become a butterfly?" ... "You must want to fly so much you are willing to give up being a caterpillar."

"

Scurried along this way for a while.

It's been comfortable and I can go for miles.

The problem stays that I am never changing.

My surroundings simply rearranging.

Cannot go up and venture the unknown.

So afraid because I've never actually flown.

Long to spread my wings and show my true colors.

Soar with all my sisters and brothers.

Spent long enough sifting through what is mine.

Hid inside this chrysalis plenty of time.

Emerging.

Oh, a breath of fresh air.

The time has come.

Mind filled with doubt.

Throat dry.

Heart pounds.

This is it.

I'm ready to try.

Off the branch I take the leap...

.........

......

...

Let's do that again!

Love the view from the sky!
