Gears

Gears

A Poem by Indigo Ribbon
"

meh

"

what if it never beats again

this heart of mine

with its dusty gears and old thoughts

clinking along slowly and ungracefuly

still unsure

if it will ever heal

after being broken

then painfully mended

so many times before

And as it creaks and groans

the hesitation

reveals the splits and breaks

that won't mend

even with time
