Winter

Winter

A Poem by Indigo Ribbon

I watch as spring comes
melting away colorless fields of snow
While the cruel wintry air
slowly fades away

new blossoms grow,
the ice melted with warmth
from the comforting sun
But i can't help but miss
the icicles catching the light
of the morning air

how the chill stabbed at my throat
a pleasant surprise, a sharp inhalation
the smell of pine wood crackling in a newly built fire

Yet, the harsh winter breeze overshadowed the beauty
its ruthless bitter nights
a massacre of living things
a cold ignorant bliss
that destroys
and treasures

So here is spring
but I miss the cold,
winter
