Honored Dead

Honored Dead

A Poem by Lloyd B. Wolf

Alabaster stones we've carved
your names into.Sacred ground
blessed and green we have chosen
for you.Your name now grace this
hall, like so many come before
you.We place this flag here to
mark your great achievements.Blue
for all your virtue,Red the blood
you shed,White for where you'll
go too.

Honored Dead in life your burden was so
heavy, leave it now at the gate
and rest here in the Garden.
