Pray For Mankind

Pray For Mankind

A Poem by lonesome_loser

Better to have loved than lost
Or not at all
Depends on who you ask, I say
Lets ask God

Are you there God, can you hear me?
Or do you forsake me
Why are we here, anyone truly know?
Showing off shiny things for all to see

Was that Gods intent
I don't think so
Do you think you're exempt
I don't think so

He is there and watching us today
So pray for mankind
As we've all lost our way
So pray for mankind
We need them to stay

It is said that God only gives us what we can bear. Every generation has its problems that they have to bear. it is unique to them. We have to pray and hope that God will deliver us from the pains of our day. Righteous poem. I enjoyed it. You have immense talent.

The world has changed so much in the past fifty years...I barely recognize it.
The last generation of kids who grew up in a Christian society are now reaching retirement age...and the first generation of kids who grew up without God are coming of age.
I shudder when I think of the Israel of long ago...they asked God to get out of the throne room, preferring a human king (1Sam 2:8)...and within a couple of generations they managed to destroy the kingdom. It has never been the same since.
You are quite right...we need to pray for mankind. We have lost our way!
Excellent poetry!

Like the others, i agree that mankind has very much lost its way. I like how you added those questions into the second stanza. I often find it hard to understand why he doesn't do something about mankind, especially given all the millions of different ways that mankind has gone off-the-track, and i ask those questions myself from time to time.
This is a really moving piece. Love it.

The aphorism you refer to in the first two lines of your poem is actually-"Better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all"
I agree that mankind has lost his way

I agree with your thoughts. Need a lot of prayer for mankind. I wonder is God listening? Old world is getting harder and more dangerous. Thank you for sharing the thought provoking poetry. A excellent poem.
