When It's Forever

When It's Forever

A Poem by Chasity Reynolds

My chin in my hand,
I sit and stare.
Rains falls on the window,
a mirrior of my face.
Red lights relflect the pain in my heart,
as you drive away.

Tissues cover the bed,
the words you left with,
echoing in my head.
Good-bye only hurts when it's forever.

The phone rings,
Oh! And I pray it's you!
But tears come by the millions more,
for things still left unsaid.

Your hand,
intertwined,
but not with mine.
God, tell me this is but a dream!

Days, months, and years pass,
and slowly the pain will cease.
New loves will blossom,
there are plenty of fish in the sea.
