Guilt

Guilt

A Poem by louyeee

Split and unhappy

That would be mommy and daddy

Are we still a family?

New Years

House still empty

Is it because of me?

Father’s Day

Our class made cards

But who is mine for?

Mother’s Day

A framed photo, letter, and flower

Yet, why can’t I please her?

It’s almost my birthday

Will they be coming my way?

No? Oh

That’s okay

February Fourteen

Mom was being mean

Dad made quite a scene

Thanksgiving was near

Friends celebrated with their families

It was full of cheer

Father was with other druggies

Mother grabbed a few too many beers

Christmas lights went up

Others even had trees

Parent’s resentment was piling up

I guess that meant no get together with the family

They always said it was because of me
