Reality

Reality

A Poem by louyeee

Cinderella

As a child, I thought I was that princess

As a teenager, I realized that it’s childish

But the beauty of being a child is that when you don’t know

To you, everything is possible

As you grow,

You’ll learn and you start to know

That those big dreams and millions of aspirations

are not all attainable

Because you learn about time, requirements, and qualifications

Once you learn, you realize

Realize that you are simply human with limitations

Wow, this piece hits home for me so much. This has been a source of great angst for me through my teens, my twenties. This is s very thought evoking poem, well done.
