My Darling Girl

My Darling Girl

A Story by Scarlett Brooke

Dear Emma,
Writing to you is the only thing that makes sense. I had a dream last night I had another little girl, and I worried she would die too.
I miss you. I love you. I feel like you're this thing in my past I'm not allowed to talk about. That it's a trauma I went through, and then you move on. I don't know if I go a day without thinking about you. You made such a significant impact on me, on the core of who I am. I don't think people understand that. But I guess they don't have to.
You were my world my sweet baby girl. One day we will be together again.
I love you.

So sad and heartbreaking--a scenario that no parent should experience. Your words ring true to the situation. An event in my own life comes to mind.
