Veil

Veil

A Poem by LeeAnne Elizabeth

I know better than this

He’s looking at me skeptically

Like I can’t stop telling lies

Because I know better than this

Somebody’s broken heart

Should never be messed with

And this veil over my eyes

Will help me not see the truth

Though it’s all in my head

Still somebody’s broken heart

Shouldn’t be messed with
