The Lyric

The Lyric

A Poem by LeeAnne Elizabeth

The records will play

Like a sad goodbye

Then comes the lyric

I couldn’t find

But I don’t mind.

I’ll take all the time.

The paper will cut

Like the pain of an ending

The lights go out

And you’re pretending

But I don’t mind.

I’ll take all the time.

The tears will fall

Your truth is a lie

Now here’s the lyric

I couldn’t find.

I don’t mind,

I’ll take all the time.

This poem has strong emotion, and it is beautiful. I love the way you used music as the theme, and the words flow together in a musical way, as well. This is a wonderful poem!

really enjoyed this, the flow, rhythm and rhyming, all work together really well especially with the musical theme that's there throughout the poem.
