For Ever

For Ever

A Poem by LeeAnne Elizabeth

The home you built

For me years ago

Still stands somewhere

That I know

I’m not sure

If it looks the same

I think the pretty decorations

For sure have changed

So many faces

I don’t recognize

But it looks like home

In my eyes

Because I am here

For ever

It’s all okay

If we’re together

We can dance

We can still sing

After everything

You’re my everything

We don’t have

The four walls

But we have more

So we have it all

There is no roof

Over my head

But we have each other

And hope inside instead
