Young Forever

Young Forever

A Poem by LeeAnne Elizabeth

Not sure how I got here

Not sure where you came from

But somehow the line was crossed

Between what’s said and done

Never heard this story before

Long nights out in the cold

Better send these words off

Before anyone knows

But someone has to know

I can see it in your eyes

I hear it in the things you say

When you catch me looking at you

And I turn the other way

Better get these words out

Better let this go

Before I figure it out

Before anyone knows

But someone has to know

No matter what happens

When I think of you

You make me feel like I could be young forever

Even when no one’s laughing

One thing is true

You only make me wish I could be young forever
